There are things I love
I wish I did not
And things I don’t
I wish I did
.
Like bananas
Nourishing
Consistent
Soft
.
But I don’t love them
I’ve tried
So many times I’ve tried
But I don’t
.
Fried, warm and gooey
Dried, cheerful and light
Frozen, ever soothing
Still banana, every time
.
They’re good for me
Yet I don’t love them
But you’re nothing like bananas
You, somehow, I do
.
This poem was written based on a prompt in the Vocal + Assist Facebook group.
I’m usually all about counting syllables, careful rhymes... it was a challenge for me to try something so different

I’m the Bubba Gump of banana’s. Banana pudding, fried bananas, peanut butter and bananas… etc. lol Love this poem. I’ve got your quota covered. 🥰
Very nicely done.
I missed this but I do love it
I love fried bananas, but other wise not crazy about bananas. Great job
Good job. I enjoyed your bananas poem!!!
Great job with the challenge! I actually don’t like bananas, either. I like how the ending was unexpected.
I like the flow of this poem and the twist at the end. Well done ❤️
I laughed when I first saw this challenge because I don't like bananas but I eat them sometimes with peanut butter when I'm trying to eat better, lol. So your poem echoes my thoughts on bananas. I loved the sweet little twist at the end :) Well done
