Freshly Fallen Snow

A Murdered Heart

By Kaloriinn MasonPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

The wind blows on softly through the trees

The snow graces upon their boughs

Covering the stain beneath it all

Thick and sweet

Like syrup upon autumn leaves

The remains there lay

Forever stayed its beating

Days of love and passion fleeting

Upon the sorrows meeting

For is it was stayed

Ever gotten long forgotten

In its sickly state

Ever longing

Forever wanting

For freedom of escape

Wishing dreaming

To be loved beneath the stars

A dream kept behind bars

Coiled and chained

Burdened and caged

A wish marred and weighed

Where it lay upon the redded ground

Beneath the freshest snow

For here it was a heart

Was murdered not so very long ago

And not a soul should know

Would know

Save a thorn

Or rather shadow there of

Of many moons displaced

Displaced of time

And now it lays

Where the the last

Echoing beat silently stays

In the hollow beneath

A great white willow

On the meadows edge

Beneath the freshly fallen snow
