Free at Last
I sought their smiles, their fleeting praise,
Chased approval through endless days.
Bent and burdened, I lost my song,
Living for others, I lived it wrong.
Their whispers ruled, their glances stung,
In their shadowed courts, my worth was hung.
But hearts of men are fickle and frail,
A shallow tide, a shifting sail.
Then came a voice, soft yet clear,
"Why seek them when I am here?
I made you whole, I call you mine,
Your worth is etched in love divine."
No longer bound by chains unseen,
I walk with grace, my soul serene.
Not all will stay, not all will see,
But in God's hands, I'm truly free.
Even love can wound, its weight can bend,
But not all paths converge, not every end.
I lean on faith, my heart is still,
Accepting life, aligned with His will.
For approval fades, like fleeting air,
But God's love stands, beyond compare.
I am enough, in Him I trust,
From earth to sky, from dust to dust.
