Freddie Freeman's Poetic Climax

Good Morning Diamond Dusters

By Marc OBrienPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Freddie Freeman

He was a dreamin

Visitors returned to the hotel steamin

After the home fans were screamin

You see those wearing the pinstripes

Had everything almost all right

Until Freddie let one fly

Deep into the early evening sky

Letting out a championship cry

But what those blue and white-hot dogs must realize

To finish a championship ride

They need to win one in good ole New York

Where they do the strategic work

Instead of dodging what is real

Remember, round two Bombers could steal

Preparing a nice trophy room to sweep

By saving a few bucks on LA hotels which are not cheap

As we debate power with the speed

It should be said with much decree

Freddie had a stroke of luck

But you better be ready to duck

Screwballs could be coming fast

And remember your Brooklyn past

Bums that you are

While Yankees discuss business at Duke’s bar

Believing in their bottom-line profit

Successful season they got it

Time to rise from the dead

Leave the four-score bed

Play a little more with their head

And purchase a grand slam

Featuring scrambled eggs and sausage ham

heartbreak
