Fraying
A reflection on reception and transformation of words

Words I say
Heard another way
Make a fray
In my white cloth
Threatening to wear it out
so it lets in mud
Words
changed by tainted ears
re-voiced
to make me feel dirty.
Instead of impurity
intention is removed
which leaves
the dirt
in dusted places.
How do I protect
my words from this
decay?
Lord, please forgive, and have
Your way.
