Fragments of Trust

In the Echo of Love's Silent Farewell

In shadows cast by moonlight's tender gleam,

A heart once whole now drifts in fragments lost,

Among the echoes of a broken dream,

Where trust once bloomed, now withered at great cost.

The tender words we whispered, soft and kind,

Have turned to whispers of a mournful song,

In eyes once bright, now sorrow’s light has shined,

Revealing scars where love and hope belong.

The nights grow long as memories entwine,

A tapestry of joy that’s turned to gray,

And though I search for solace, I resign,

To finding peace where trust has gone astray.

Yet still, in every dawn, a quiet plea,

To mend the wounds and heal the shattered past,

But trust, once broken, fades so endlessly,

A silent echo of a love that’s cast.

So here I stand, with heart so bruised and bare,

A solemn sentinel of dreams undone,

No longer will I seek, nor do I dare,

To trust the hands that left me to outrun.

In solitude, I craft a fragile grace,

A tender solace in the evening’s chill,

And though the pain may linger in this place,

I vow to guard my heart, forever still.
