Fragile Wings

On becoming an artist

By Alicja Pyszka-FranceschiniPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Allow me to take you on a voyage of shades

And if you're in darkness

I'll make sure it fades.

Look

The sky is raining down with hues

Let's get ready together

Let's awaken the muse

Who am I?

I'll give you a clue..

I sip on the cornflower's maroon

This is what keeps me in bloom

I sip on orange scented roses and white chives

To make sure that my inner artist does nothing but thrives

I perch on the golden boss of a chamomile

Yes.

Good guess.

I am a butterfly.

The girl who painted on the white wallpaper

And was badly told off

The girl who, as a result, completely closed off.

I wish the wallpaper wasn't rationed

And my dad didn't get cross

The five year-old artist wouldn't feel a loss

Of artistic adventures

Of journeys of pleasure

During which they can explore

Without restraint

Without any measure.

It was Forgiveness,

Imagination and Playfulness

The yellowness of a chamomile

That slowly turned me into

An artist with a smile

The colours are my tools

And they are my guide

Thanks to them I stand before you

With light on my side

Breathe in the colours

So passionately that there is no end

To your artistic expression

My friend.

And about the past..

Colourful and Merciful rhyme

Because art is not

A childhood crime.

But rightfully divine.

art
