Fractured Humanity
a plea to remember what holds us together
Who are we as a society without humanity
Without compassion
Without empathy
Who are we really?
.
Humanity is not belief.
It’s not agreement.
It’s not politics.
Humanity is the fragile thread
Between my life and yours—
compassion that refuses to break.
.
Humanity is respect,
so simple, yet so complex.
Respect is earned,
but never meant to be taken away.
.
We as humans should be looking out for each other,
regardless of our beliefs.
.
Who are we becoming
when violence is celebrated
and death becomes entertainment?
.
When did communicating become taboo,
but violence monetized?
.
I’m scared—
not only because people are cheering
for the death of a human,
but because one day
my voice may be the one hated too.
.
Regardless of words spoken,
killing any human
makes you inhuman.
.
It’s repulsive.
It’s disgusting.
It’s horrible.
.
And my soul is heavy.
.
Why can’t we just respect each other?
.
Don’t like it? Don’t follow them.
It’s that simple.
.
Life is a gift of choice,
and humanity is the respect
to let others live theirs.
.
We are meant for joy,
for love,
for each other—
not for bullets,
not for cheers at the loss of a soul.
.
So I’ll ask again—
who are we without humanity?

Humanity, compassion, and respect should never be optional, and you’ve expressed that truth so beautifully.
