the other night
i got up for a pee
found the cat on the computer
using CatGPT
writing fake poems
piscatorially postulating
about fish not from the sea
waxing quite poetically
about how salty fish should be
he didn't hear me from behind
he had his headphones on
the constant clack of his frantic keying
told me the something up was wrong
something was up and wrong indeed
but not quite what you think
the cat that i forgot to put out last night
(I do not endorse any putting out of any cats, my cats all live inside! I’m just filling lines here ok!)
was causing a ruckus and a stink
the AI could not compete
with the feline mind
the scratching of posts
the bringing of dead things
as it melted all helter skelter
it left a hole in time
right where my computer used to be
the cat looked around
and jumped ten feet
every single hair standing on end
stuck upside down in the ceiling
like a bad cartoon
his headphones fell off
as he clawed the plaster above
i could hear Gary Numan!
