First came the spring, so fresh and slow,

It melted last of winter snow,

Then hot and humid summer came,

Then autumn set the world aflame,

And then, as nights pushed out the days,

The winter froze the remains.

Those were four seasons of your love,

As sent to you by gods above;

But gods move on, and so have you

And cycle then began anew

First was the spring, so fresh and game,

Then hot and humid summer came,

Then autumn set the world aglow,

Then winter cooled it all with snow

Those were four seasons of your love,

As sent to you by gods above;

But gods move on, and so have you

And all have gotten their due
