Forgiveness

and how we find it

To forgive another

is to love another

as an extension of yourself

but

some wounds don’t bleed

they weep

to forgive

is not to forget the pain it takes to find peace.

To forgive yourself is a different process

no-one deserves forgiveness

and that’s the secret

only your actions reflect

how you’ve picked up the pieces.

At some point

we all seek to be forgiven

and where we find it is surprising

for some

forgiveness is an idea the universe wants to share

and for others

it starts with simple acts of self-care.

In parting,

always remember

to forgive

is never an act of surrender

to forgive

is not to condone or allow,

rather

to forgive

is to disarm the power the hurt was endowed.
