Forevermore

A Comedy

By Carmen HeniginPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

It was dark and oh, so dreary.

The Poe-osaurus was oh, so weary.

The little ones scampered about at play,

While the parents hunted far away.

He was set to watch the young,

And questions were on every tongue.

When will we eat? When will we nap?

When to go home? Why are you fat?

What is that light on this dark, dreary day?

Will our kind always live and stay?

The old one sighed and answered the last,

Even while they inched towards the past,

"Shall we live upon this earth to eat and roar?"

Quoth the ancient, "Forevermore."

This is both cute and sad.🥹 I love the rhythm and rhyme… especially the end: “ The old one sighed and answered the last, Even while they inched towards the past, "Shall we live upon this earth to eat and roar?" Quoth the ancient, "Forevermore."✅
