Forest Green

if i had to choose a favorite color

it’d definitely be green

but not just any particular shade.

i love the symphony of green hues

that you sense as much as see

driving or cycling through the forest

with your eyes half closed,

so all you see is the blurred impression

of green all around

and all you feel is the wind on your face

and all you smell is the forest

whipping by.

it embeds the forest in your soul

so it never leaves you.
