She laughed at my way of speaking... my accent.

He laughed, they laughed...

I laughed too.

I laughed, not because

I was not from where they were from.

Nor because I thought I sounded funny.

I laughed, because

my accent is my proof of my access...

to more than one language of literature,

poetry, songs, lore, and more.

I laughed, because

none of these mattered to me, at the end of the day

to recognize love.
