For Us
Misenum to Stabiae, There and Then to Be Here Now
By Paul A. MerkleyPublished 12 months ago • 1 min read

William Marlow, Vesuvius Erupting at Night, 1768
You haven’t changed much
In two thousand years
Quick, steadfast
Soul's brave alchemy

You ran risks then
You face them now
You wrote of danger
I brought the fleet

For how could it be otherwise?
Then or now?
Apart we fly together;
And I haven’t changed much either
