For the Love of God

A piece on turning religion into a weapon.

Accoladed for ignorace,

beasts dance in droves.

Cabarets celebrate the

destruction of peace and hope.

Erring on the side of

faith, fallacies now kill.

Gallantly they dance on our corpses--

hear them preaching "God's Will".

Idolatry--

just another way to love

kings who watch their people starve

lurking silently from thrones above.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Martyrs, they believe they are.
Never could they die for anything as
obscene as love, or identity.
Pawns can wander from the path without
question if it meant another life for their
ruler, but he shall never
stray more than one step to save his people.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Their deaths mean more than that, surely,

under the gun of their Heavenly King.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Valued shall I and all my people be,
when the tides of war have turned, for ourselves.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Xenial forevermore to an invisible lord, as they tell us to

yield to their ways or face the reaping.

Zealous enough are they to harm in the name of "love".
