For single mothers
A poem to inspire and soothe
There is a weight you carry, unseen,
a quiet strength woven into every morning,
every lunch packed with hands that ache,
every bedtime story told with a voice
that refuses to break.
The world may not always see
the nights you stay awake,
worry threading itself through your thoughts,
calculating, adjusting, stretching
love into something larger than yourself.
You are both shelter and storm,
soft arms that comfort,
fierce hands that build.
You shape futures with patience,
with sacrifice, with a will
that refuses to bend.
Loneliness may knock,
but it will never live here.
Because you are never truly alone—
your love lingers in every lesson taught,
every scraped knee kissed,
every whispered "You can do this"
before a first step,
a first day,
a first dream chased.
And when exhaustion comes,
when doubt settles like dust,
remember this:
You are enough.
You always have been.
You always will be.

I have so much respect for single mothers! I don't know how they do it!
