For My Mama Who Soared
How does she fly?
With her legs pinned down
How does she fly?
When her bones are cold
How does she fly?
In the pain of her bones
How does she fly?
When she seems held back
How does she fly?
Her heart still smiles
Love lifts her up
She expects the blue sky
That’s how she flies.
