For Better, For Worse

"...for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part..."

The water is rising

Above the bridge, waist-high

The winds are arguing

They speak in our place, in our silence

The clouds cover, surrounding us

They listen

Fog rolls in

Thunder too

Tears roll down, adding to the flood

Emotions swim, and the heart pours-

Drowning us

As the storm approaches, hope may leave

But, we stay

Better has come and been

Then, comes the latter-

"...for worse"

And the former

"in sickness..."

In both, we both spoke

"I do"

So, we will-

"till death do us part..."

We stay

In the eye of the storm

As the piano plays, and the sky cries

The waters will rise and fall

The clouds watch us waltz

Not to worry about the weather

Even when we can't see, the sun still sings

Regardless of the waters

Neither torment nor treasure will, but we will-

Be forever

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
