You were my best friend…but,

Disagreement brought you to despair

You twisted conviction in your mind,

You allowed words to chain and bind

Imprisoned by qualms

Shaking at the knees,

Your finger trembles on the trigger

If I truly am the villain,

Why am I the one pleading for your life instead of mine?

You were my best friend…but

You weaponized my past to justify your acts

From synchronicity to incongruity

You were my best friend…but

I was the fool in the end.

You killed a part of me that day,

Trust? I don't know what that is these days...
