Fool's Love

Love is not a one-way street

By Connor StermerPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

We went swimming at the beach on our 4th date.

Weeks later you would tell me you're self-conscious.

Vegan, clean, and full of vegetables.

I watched you eat shrimp.

I folded your laundry for you since I know you hate it.

If there is anything I can do to help with your depression I know you won't ask me.

You had the prettiest freckles that added the perfect contrast to your passionate blue eyes.

We only went on two dates that weren't a bar.

I went drinking with you and your best friends and we sang karaoke together.

I'm pretty sure you took money out of my wallet.

We held hands by the lake while we wore each other's shirts.

You were so drunk on our first date that you couldn't even walk...before I even showed up.

We took your dog on a hike and we smiled and held hands as it rained on us.

What happened to you the night of your birthday?

You absolutely loved my from scratch vegan tacos.

I think you may have cheated on me.

We went on a picnic before sunset with a full charcuterie board.

You never said goodbye.
