Fool's Gold.
When Material Wealth Fails to Satisfy the Hunger Within.

Coins may shine like gold,
But they can't be eaten, I'm told.
Hunger pangs gnaw at my gut,
Coins won't fill it, that's a fact.
What good is wealth when you're starving?
Coins may jingle, but they're not nourishing.
I long for food to ease my pain,
Not shiny objects that bring no gain.
A coin can't be cooked or sliced,
It won't provide any sustenance or spice.
It's just a piece of metal or a token,
But when I'm hungry, it leaves me broken.
I dream of a feast fit for a king,
Where food abounds and hunger doesn't sting.
Coins may have their place in life,
But when it comes to hunger, they're not right.
So let me fill my belly with food,
To satisfy my hunger and lift my mood.
Coins may glitter, but they're not enough,
To fill me up with sustenance and love.

Your poem beautifully captures the simple truth that material possessions, no matter how valuable, cannot replace the basic needs of human survival. The imagery of hunger pangs gnawing at your gut and the longing for food to ease your pain is heart-wrenching and relatable. The contrast between the shimmering coins and the bare necessity of food creates a powerful message that resonates with everyone. Your poem reminds us that in the face of hunger, material possessions become meaningless and that the true value of life lies in fulfilling our basic needs. Overall, your poem is a poignant and well-crafted piece that highlights the importance of prioritizing basic necessities over material possessions.
