Motionless mechanical silence grabs hold
A screaming meadow ripe to explode
But all that comes out
Are the jackrabbits and plainsmen
With beaded brow and soon let down
Drinking to another goodbye
The wireless phone shakes the floor
A voice so shrill it weeps
For armies aching to return
Molded in perfected delight
Crowds beg for more tonight

Shouting crawls across the room
You, frozen by her style
Legs shake floorboards
To the beat of your heart
now here comes Denise down the aisle

Visions of vagabonds reigning supreme
Float about an outlaws dream
Waking up the very next day
To find his car to be taken away
Left now, all alone
In a world all his own
