Flood on Island Terrace
Public Announcement Challenge

Attention residents of Island Terrace and all residents of Bergen County New Jersey.
Due to the Hurricane Marla, we are anticipating flooding, due to the possiblity of the Ramapo River over flowing.
If you live near the Ramapo River, or Pompton Lake area, you are advised to heed this warning.
There is only one bridge in and out of Island Terrace, we are especially warning the people who have houses on the island to secure belongings and to evaucuate before 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
If you have a summer home on the Ramapo River or Pompton Lakes, we are urging you to secure all objects that might blow around, as they are forcasting high hurricane strength winds.
If your home was built before 1950, and you are at ground level, you might remove your belongings or put them in the attic.
This is for all residents of Island Terrace, except for the "smart ass", who built his house in 1953, and built it seven feet tall. He or She was the last person to build their house on this island.
They built their house on a 7 foot foundation, and of course unless we have a flood of biblical proportions, this notice does not pertain to the pink house with the seven foot concrete block foundation.
To that particular house, I suggest you secure your vehicle and if you choose to stay in your home, I suggest you stock up your groceries, and secure anything that the high winds can blow around, and stay inside until the worst of the hurricane has past. Other than that you are on your own.
