She was expected to fly,

Every day she wakes up on the edge,

The edge of praying she would have died,

And the edge of being grateful for her first breath.

Her wings were not given,

They were destroyed.

You're stupid.

No one loves you.

A waste of space.

Locked away in an underwater castle, with thick ridged walls.

Ephemeral bliss followed by unheard screams.

A heavy soul hoping to drown.

Broken wings, unable to fly.
