It's all blue skies today
The sun has risen
Life awoken
again
In the new morning light
I realize
The ways in which
The trees have aged
Their leaves - wrinkled with curls
faded from a harsh summer
I think of you
Wondering how time has aged you
as well
Wondering if you are enjoying the sunshine
the way I am
Wondering if you even see the sun.
We used to comment on the blue skies
together
and watch the clouds turn
I am reminded
for a second - with a subtle sting
that the love I have for you
no longer has a home
Forever aimless
Unable to rest in the space we shared together
The way the bids seem to be
as they soar in the sky
here ; homeless
present ; but passing
Love for you
is blessing I carry with me
and the curse I am still undoing
But like the birds, I have found a way
to feel the joy
in the impermenance
You can see a lot
From way up here
