Flamebound

To spare the innocent

By Mohamed SakhiriPublished 9 months ago 1 min read
"Death and Fire" by Paul Klee (1940)

I pledge myself to never love again

For I'm cursed, I bring suffering

To all I touch, to all I love

My love is torment, my soul a hell

If death spares me, I shall remain alone

Burning in the corner, in my own fire

So that no innocent soul suffers by it —

Never ever again.
