when it starts to overwhelm you, don’t panic
just try to imagine
five things you can see:
black cat in the window
door with a bell
and a mouse chasing you
but better bet
it’s not over yet
until you touch four things:
smooth face
boutonnière on the lapel of the jacket
fedora hat holding your head
and a pinch of salt for good luck
I assure you that you will need it like never before
while you can hear
three things and name them at once:
traffic in the city
the silence of the dead of night
or the mallards’ loud squawk
never forget
to name two things you can smell:
the stench of sewage that is never the same
from city to city and from town to town
not to mention the village manure
although the smell of freshly baked apple pie
would be much better
you can taste it with fruit tea
and that would be all you would have to go through
to finally release
this sensational hell on earth in clean air
watch out as it can affect you at any time in your life!
