When Fitzgerald wrote 'The Great Gatsby",
he received nothing but mockery.
"You're washed up!" They shout.
He died poor; penniless but proud.
They were wrong but it's too late to say sorry.

Wow, the slant rhymes here are top notch! I really enjoyed this limerick!
