Fishing

I sit by the river,

My line in the water.

The sun is shining,

The birds are singing.

I am at peace.

I am one with nature.

I am part of something bigger than myself.

I am connected to the earth and the water.

I am fishing.

I am waiting for a bite.

I am patient.

I am calm.

I am in the moment.

I am present.

I am alive.

I am fishing.

And then, I feel a tug on my line.

I reel it in,

And there it is,

A beautiful fish.

I release it back into the river,

And I watch it swim away.

I am happy.

I am content.

I am at peace.

I am fishing.
