A rainbow apparatus beyond the great lake /then a second rainbow hovered above /lightning between, around, storm-clouds above /the lake blown by a wind into a glassy sea
and one fish swims beneath
the air in the bow shimmers golden /as a protective shield of light Shielding against the thunder-heralded spears of light/ The opposite shore is lit by the sun’s fading rays /As when Arthur received his sword on an ancient day
And one fish bites Caught. Haul’d, the line is snapped
two men lament their loss, oblivious/ To the state laid siege by a dragon envious/ Nor the great beast swimming beneath the waves /as a rippling road of taut-tide it paves
