Fire Eye
Free Verse

The candle flickered in the autumn reflection of her hazel eyeball.
(...a fire stoked...)
Crackling embers danced throughout the dry kindling
surrounding her chest cavity.
She licked the fireball!
A flame she manifested using the depressed powers
of her unnatural anatomy.
She fingered the festering wound in her nape
until it grew into a mortal injury.
He lingered in the sweltering tomb - no escape -
until the dead began to sing to he.
The ghosts of her past mingled with the premonitions of their future…
…yet they all remained trapped within the same tomb...
...forced to ferment as a rumor.
Roll away the stone…this realm of stench needs the light of day.
Delicately remove the display…of bones…white dress…groom’s skull…
...and floral bouquet.
