always a question of when and where. someone should tell you before it’s too late.
when does a healthy “carefree”
become cold and empty
when does “doing you”
become a disconnected taboo
when you don’t anymore have the capacity
to acknowledge your personal “tragedies”
when you become so unfazed
and you are finally able
to leave unscathed-
when does that become less of a triumph and more of a shame?
This heart of mine
only opens
when it is broken-
by then it’s far too late
they’re fed up with all the games

The Fairy Dance
Introduction This image made me think of Irish and Welsh mythology, so I have decided on an ekphrastic casbairdne for the form, which, although quite short, is a very difficult form, and this is my first attempt. I did find this very hard, but hopefully I made it work.
