Finding my way
I try so hard but always end up here. Back at the start

Finding my way
In the silence of a world that feels so wide,
I wander through the echoes of empty streets,
The weight of my thoughts, heavy inside,
With nowhere to go, my heart skips its beats.
The faces around me fade into a blur,
I reach for connection, but it slips from my hands,
Each smile feels distant, a ghost's quiet stir,
In this sea of voices, no one understands.
Walls close in like shadows, thick and cold,
I seek for a refuge, a comforting place,
But the absence of warmth makes the heart feel old,
As time drips slowly, an unwelcome race.
I listen for laughter, a spark in the night,
But silence remains, a companion so true,
Every step echoes the longing for light,
Yet the path remains dark, with no guiding view.
There’s nowhere to turn, just whispers of doubt,
I search for a hand, for a heart that may care,
But the emptiness swells, a fog all about,
Cloaking my spirit, with burdens to bear.
Still, I carry the hope that tomorrow will bring,
A moment of solace, a chance to feel whole,
For even in shadows, resilience can sing,
A promise within me, a light in my soul.
So here I stand, in this solitary space,
Knowing that longing, though heavy, will fade.
One day I’ll find, in this open place,
A path to new horizons, where dreams aren’t afraid.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
