Darkness
Fear – it overwhelms me.
Who is this?
Where am I?
What is happening?
Pain
Betrayal – my life is shattered.
A new life,
Is begun.
Confusion.
I don’t understand,
What has happened?
Strangers
Surround me.
Time passes.
Slowly, I forget.
Life,
Living becomes normal.
Years go by.
Change!
Taken away
Again. I fear.
Strangers once more
Surround me.
Slowly, I remember.
Life,
Living will never be the same.
Courage
Who am I?
Who are these people?
Strangers

The moment before flight is always quieter than anyone expects. It doesn’t arrive with revelation or thunder or some cinematic surge of certainty. It comes as a tremor—small, internal, almost private. A shift in the body before the mind has language for it. A recognition that something in you has already decided, long before you admit it out loud. The first wingbeat is not motion. It is permission.
