Filter Less Journeys

words in/at play

By BrenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

living in the abundant fleeing shadows

of an illusion stuffed predominantly with

first stale second hand

third pick fourth tier choices

no inner voices no monolog no dialog

no sounds of any kind; in or out

you will see what you need to hear

when a time is right

facts will be twisted like shit balloon tricks

lies dressed up as honest, reliable and wholesome

hate is the new news; screw loose goose views

and escape is but a fantastic dream

that sits and teases on the tips of our minds

for we are sentenced to this eternal machine

begrudgingly we trudge there

with no thought or care

and then and when

told to make a move

and remain perfectly still

shown how to hunt and stalk

but not allowed the kill

threatened and cowed

promises diluted

with a forked tongue noise

passions are dulled

lies are endorsed

then worshipped,

and sold

the latest must have distraction

the confused are used

flagrantly abused

pin popped exhausted

ignorant and deflated

they just exist

and we're meant to be thankful

expected to remain supine we're supposed to feign a certain level of state sanctioned pre-approved carbon neutral bio-organic animal free smile friendly happiness and pretend that everything is fine

that everything is fine

everything is fine

is fine?
