My life, in full color;

for right now at least.

I am fresh out of the darkness;

I finally found some peace.

I never saw life like this before,

seems like I needed some tragedy.

That break not only let in the light,

I was given a new reality.

It’s bright and colorful here.

Everything is always new.

My heart is always broken

But damn, you should see the view.

My skin is beautifully golden.

My lips have a pretty pink hue.

The grass is the greenest wherever I am.

I wish you both were here too

The light blue sky touches the aqua ocean,

white waves come crashing down onto the shore.

The gold sand shines like diamonds

Everytime I come here it’s more perfect than before.

The Sun is setting like a fire now,

light moving through the atmosphere.

Brilliant red, hot pink, smokey orange & bright yellow.

Life is in full color & everything is crystal clear.

Of course, I often miss you

Yes it’s true I often feel actual pain.

Still I know it’s ok to be happy.

Because the sun is always brighter after you’ve been in the rain.

It’s actually amazing to be here,

Living moment by moment & surviving day by day.

I know my life is a gift

I live life in life full color, each & everyday.

For Andrew, my brother & best friend who lost his battle to Cancer on 12/24/2018. For Anthony, my cousin & best friend who lost his battle to Suicide on 5/27/2019. They were both 35 years old. I always thought we would see each grow old together but I guess the Higher Power had other plans. I never imagined I would walk on this Earth alone but I seem to be doing so. Living through these tragedies is different but I now appreciate my life more than I ever did when it was normal. Read it again.
