Feels like home.

A short poem about what I love.

By J R RajornePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Earl Grey tea is on the air,

Mum’s cooking wafting up the stairs.

Thump! Thump! Thump! Do footsteps make,

Those are Dad’s - without mistake.

Poppa bear always loves his hugs,

Tucks you in, “Don’t fear bed bugs.”

Little ones crash hand-me-down toys,

You know they’re there when making noise.

Sweet birds sing along with sweet sister,

Everyone always teases “Find a mister!”.

Fireplace crackles and keeps us warm,

While Grandma and Grandpa tell tales till dawn.

Mum always listens, always makes sure we’re alright,

Her love an unending, unequivocal delight.

No matter how far or how long we go,

There's always one place called home I'll know.

A place of our own that brings family together,

This place will feel like home forever.

+ Have a look at my profile for some fun short bits of fiction about a crazy dude called Berel the Magnificent! The Greatest Wizard of All Time! It's a little novel I've got in the works about a fool's failures in a fantastic fantasy epic of the future.

Much love.
