Feelings of Thought

A Dialogue Between Silence and Emotion

By Clifford KincaidPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

It’s that feeling no one can explain—

The loneliness inside a person’s brain.

Thoughts... thoughts... thoughts?

Wait—was someone talking about thoughts?

Thoughts are feelings, and feelings are thoughts.

Whose thoughts?

My thoughts? My thoughts!

Oh—your feelings?

No, my feelings aren’t your thoughts.

My feelings cannot speak,

So I speak for them.

But now—

I’ve run out of room for all my feelings...

Or were those my thoughts?

I’ll bring them back to you.

But do you really think

Anyone can understand where I’m coming from—

Or where I’m going?

How can you grasp thoughts

I don’t even want to face?

Yet somehow, I always do.

I speak for all my thoughts,

But no one seems to understand

They are really my feelings—

Feelings of thought.

Your feelings,

Their feelings,

And of course—

Our feelings.
