Preparing The Future

like an ant in the afterbirth

storing the power of the embers

gouging the need of self worth

as the new body trembles

seduced by your wares

a welcome fire, after the fall

as a whole, we prepare

to tear down every wall

where scars become pathways

singed roads where we have been

creating new highways

healing the wounds there, within

redefining the meaning

of original sin

cutting and preening

planting new seedlings in

an effort to capture

and regain all control

we wait for the rapture

to cauterize the soul

leaving the corpse, as a shell

to feed the soil it lays on

every muscle and cell

feeding what's next to become

so much power in lament

anticipation pounds like a drum

every spur of the moment

has already been planned

Not sure but could this be a poem telling us it's really God's plan on what we do in life.
