Feast of the Cannibals?

Dark poem!

I just got tagged. In case you weren't aware, Oneg and James were running a series of challenges and the new one for today was the Tag You're It! Challenge. As the first to reply to Mackenzie's sad but stunning poem The Roommate

I was tagged in the FEAST community.

Here is the basic gist of the challenge:

Pick a Vocal community and tag/nominate another writer to write a poem or 100-word micro fic about it BUT you only have 15 minutes to write!

Oh, is that the time?

Can't be late for dinner

It's Friday, after all

To miss, I'd be a sinner

*

What's on the menu?

Heart, liver, and spleen?

How about eyeballs and tongue

Must lick the plate clean

*

As Father reminds us every night

The toiling and hard work he goes through

To put a tasty, nutritious plate of evil on the table

Without him, whatever would my family do?

*

The Mexican tasted spicy, the Italian flavoursome

The Indian blew the roof off my mouth

The Spanish was very fishy, and the French so refined

I hope I feel okay when this food goes south

*

Thanks for reading this madness!

Oh damn. I ain't coming for dinner. Great job, buddy.

  • I could just eat this piece up. Reminds me of the Halloween parties our mother used to throw with all the blindfolded tours through the buffet.

What a unique perspective on feast I love what you did here, it’s really good horror writing as well, and in such a short time exceptional work friend

    Hilarious, my friend! Well done.

😵 You did this is 15 mins? No! Less, yes? You astound me with this rhyme scheme! Also, is it bad I burst out laughing in the last stanza? You’re too clever for this world, my friend. And I mean that with all the smiles I flashed throughout this poem (hint: it was a lot!) You knocked this out of the park!

  • I LOVED THIS! Funny, yet ew, yet yum, yet FLAVOUR! Hahahaha Glad you joined in on this challenge :)
