welcome and have a seat

a year’s feast that’s hard to beat (2 x beet)

many hours, many days

working hard, and how it pays

are you happy? are you sad?

pantry’s full? or is it bad?

hopper, were you singing in the grass?

missed your turn of another hourglass?

time is up! now winter comes

all the busy bees go to their homes

fruits of summer golden sweet

foods of heaven and some heat

ageless times, the toil of sun

spent till light is almost gone

here’s a toast to end of years

drink the wine and dry those tears

moving backwards through the days

you can see how working pays

apples, pears, and sour grapes

all adorning in landscapes

pick a quince and have a bite

we’ll be celebrating the Harvest tonight!
