She appeared in my life at just the right time. A ray of light. Fun in human form.
We laughed till we cried, and talked till our voices ached.
Time with her was good for the soul. No matter the distance, always there for each other.
We made plans. Shared secrets, hopes and dreams. She never judged. Just accepted.
Years passed, we drifted apart.
Looking back, I can't recall, what made us stop. What caused the space. Or the last time we laughed, the last words we spoke.
If I knew that last moment was the last, I would have hugged a little tighter, sat with her a little longer.
But I didn't and she's gone.
Like childhood, she is now just a memory.
What we had has come to an end.
Farewell to my imaginary friend.
