Family fracture

Broken bond 💔

By Emem IniPublished about a year ago 1 min read

A bond of brotherhood, now broken and worn
A call to friends, a hurtful form
Of revenge and anger, a path I've chose
To harm my own flesh, a heavy toll it shows

My brother's wrongs, a justification I made
But violence breeds violence, a cycle displayed
Friends turned against kin, a painful sight
A family torn apart, by my own hand's might
A choice I made, in anger's frown
Wishing for peace, and a chance to mend
A bond of brotherhood, before it ends.

A brother's betrayal, a bond broken true
His wrongs against me, forever shining through
I called upon my friends, to stand by my side
Together we confronted, his wicked pride

No regrets, I feel, for taking a stand
Against the harm, he held in his hand
My friends and I, a united front we made
Against the toxic bond, that had long been frayed

Some may say, I took the wrong path
But for me, it was justice, at last
No apologies, for protecting my name
From the brother, who brought only shame.

A brother's darkness, a heart of stone
Beats down our father, leaves him alone
Steals from his pockets, and breaks his trust
A toxic shadow, that haunts our dust

I called upon my friends, to stand tall and strong
To protect our father, where I belonged
Together we confronted, the brother's might
And fought for what's right, in the dark of night

No regrets, I feel, for taking a stand
Against the one, who held a cruel hand
Our father's safety, my topmost guide
I'd do it again, to keep him safe inside

The brother's ways, a poison to our name
I'll rise against, his violent claim to fame
For family is love, and love is what we need
Not the brother's greed, that brings only creed.
