The family is a circle of many things
There are no islands where one person reigns
When you have family
You have a home
Where pies are baked and cakes are made
The sweetest smell of cinnamon
Completes the day
And then everyone goes home
But wishing they could stay
We never seem to think about where it all began
When two people fell in love
And became more than just freinds
Anchoring the roots and watering the tree
That makes up our family
From aunts and uncles
Cousins and friends
The family is no longer one of tradition
It has opened it's arms to whoever fits in
And waters the roots so that the limbs can strengthen
The Family
Is a circle of many things
Because two people fell in love
And made the circle complete
Adding to what is called our history
Watching the growth of the beautiful leaves
Making complete our family tree!!
