Lights dim,

Eyes drowsy.

Still and tiring aches

Take over many a limb.

Our minds slip away— lousy.

The minds twists our life

Into hidden meaning,

Odd what comes about

But that’s how our head gets

A good inside cleaning.

Running though still,

Falling though stayed

With head resting on pillow fluffed

And our mind in a river of thoughts it wades.

The blanket so warm

And toes exposed cower in fear

Of the cold

That the night rears.

A cursed beeping sound

Makes you rise again

From your rest

And nothing but coffee makes you

Feel your best.

The cozy nest is abandoned

For another time, another day.
