Falling from Grace

I bow my head, in shame

Falling from Grace

I once walked proud with my head held high

my words were silk my heart was steady

the world bowed kindly as I passed by

and every step felt calm and ready

Now shadows whisper where light once grew

the air turns cold and the ground unsteady

trust fades away like a ship from view

and I am not the one I used to be

The faces I knew have turned their eyes

their smiles are gone their hands withdrawn

they speak in murmurs dressed in lies

and I stand alone to greet the dawn

The mirror shows what I cannot hide

the wear the scars the lines of time

the way my dreams have curled inside

and left me silent without rhyme

No crown remains upon my brow

no place where I may rest my name

only the weight I carry now

a quiet fall without the flame

Still here I stand though stripped and bare

a shadow walking in open space

no one to see no one to care

just the echo of one who fell from grace

While hauntingly sad, it's incredibly relatable. Great job as always.
