Falling asleep or waking up.

Simple pleasures that aren’t so simple after all.

By Leigh springfellowPublished 3 years ago 1 min read
Asleep / Awake.

As the day fades into night,

My eyes grow heavy, my mind takes flight.

Into dreams where anything is possible,

Where worries are forgotten, stress is disposable.

The world outside grows still and quiet,

As my body surrenders to the peace of slumber.

But just as soon as I drift away,

The morning sun creeps in, chasing the night away.

The chirping birds, the rustling leaves,

The gentle hum of life, the sweet reprieve.

From the restful dreams that filled my mind,

I wake, refreshed, and leave the slumber behind.

With a deep breath, I open my eyes,

And embrace the new day that lies ahead.

Energized, inspired, and ready to go,

I rise, feeling blessed, and ready to grow.
