Fairy Fire

Lights the dark

Soft feet shuffle sleepily across cold cedar planks

Down the old corridor by flickering lantern light

A sleeping sigh blossoming with shuddering delight

Escaping in tandem with the autonomic closing of the shutter

puffing the flare, making it flutter to life

🧚🕯️⋆✴︎˚。⋆

A warm gust of shivering breath the flame caress

Coaxing it to flamboyant life

The vision of chaos clinking against the lantern's windbreak

Glowing, glittering, green, unaware of life's rules

But not a bone in her mean

Slipping between the door and latch

She flitters free in the cold, damp, darkness

🧚🕯️⋆✴︎˚。⋆

Ephemeral, bounding on air, tossing verdantly glowing hair

Fire licking her heels as she flames with lush chaotic flair

A penetrating stare and a lilting laugh that sticks

Perpetually echoing ear to ear with the

Catch of a jingle softly sung by a Beauty Queen at a county fair

Facial creams, and elixirs fabled to preserve youthful glamor

🧚🕯️⋆✴︎˚。⋆

Darting out the window into the gem-studded night

A luminous circuitous path drawn in emerald light

Without fear or care, the somnambulant lady

In her feeble despair leapt frantically after

On wings of jealousy, she dove into the rocky sea

Her heavy spirit finally lighter than air
