Chloe awoke with a feeling of awe,

While Mack, on the carpet, sat licking his paws.

She got out of bed and walked across the room,

To the window that basked in the light of the moon.

She saw a flickering of gold, silvery light,

From the bottom of the garden on that cold winters night.

With Mack by her side, she began her adventure,

And out to the garden, they decided to venture.

To the bottom of the garden, they started to creep,

While the rest of the world was sound, fast asleep.

They stopped at the light - and found fairy dust!

Chloe thought to herself, ''Return it - we must!".

They searched and searched and looked all around,

But no matter where they looked, no fairy was found.

Chloe picked up the dust and sprinkled a pinch,

Until Mack and she, shrunk inch by inch.

Excited as they stood there, now fairy height,

They had just heard some noises, just out of sight.

They walked past the toadstools and the long blades of grass,

Until they happened upon a real fairy at last!

"Hello there my dears, from where have you come?"

Said the fairy who told them her name was Plum.

"From the big human house, at the edge of the garden",

"We're sorry its so late, please beg our pardon".

"Why it's not late - the nights just begun",

"Come with me now and meet everyone".

To Chole's surprise there were a whole lot more,

As she saw all the fairies through the toadstool door.

A party inside had just begun,

And all the fairies were having such fun.

For the fairies had parties every night,

And only went to bed when the sun made it light.

There were chocolates and cake and sweet fairy bread,

And fairies doing tricks like standing on their heads!

There was dancing and singing and music galore,

And gold, silvery fairy dust all over the floor.

It was warm and cosy in the toadstool stalk,

And Chloe felt comfortable enough to talk.

So she stood on a stool in the middle of the room,

"I've found some fairy dust, its one of yours I presume".

The music had stopped and the fairies all listened,

They checked in their pockets to see their dust glisten.

"We've all got our dust, whose could it be?"

"Lets go to the princess, she'll know, you'll see".

So off they all went, out into the night,

They walked and walked 'til the castle was in sight.

It was grand and magical, made from droplets of dew,

It glowed in the darkness with a warm golden hue.

With Plum leading the way, Chloe walked up the steps,

The grand door opened and inside they crept.

And there on the throne, was the fairy princess,

With long golden hair and a blue-bell shaped dress.

"Dear fairy princess, I have found some dust"

"When I found it, I knew that return it - I must".

"But alas, all the fairies still have theirs,

"I've come here to you, cause they told me you'd care".

The fairy princess stood from where she sat,

Gave Chloe a cuddle and Mack a pat.

"Why thank you, thank you, thank you", she cried,

It's my dust you found and I'm much obliged.

Well Chloe, she stood there happy as could be,

To see the princess so full of glee.

She wanted to grant them one special wish,

Which she did in the form of a sweet fairy kiss.

As they grew and grew, taller and taller,

The fairies below got smaller and smaller.

"I wonder if we'll ever see them again?",

Said Chloe to Mack - her hairy best friend.

Running they rushed up the garden path,

Towards the house with a giggle and laugh.

What fun they had had with their new fairy friends,

To bed now to sleep 'til the next time again.
